Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
The area around the eyes is often the first part of the face to show signs of aging. The lower lids become puffy and then sag and the upper lids become droopy. Besides making the face look older, the drooping of the upper eyelid can make a person look tired or angry. In some cases, the upper lid droops low enough to interfere with the field of vision.
Our Los Angeles-area practice offers blepharoplasty, the general term applied to eyelid surgery used to correct problems of both the upper and lower lid area and to restore a more youthful, refreshed look to the face.
To treat puffiness and sagging of the lower lid, the surgeon will make an incision just under the lashes and remove fat and excess skin, leaving the area firmer and smoother.
The treatment for the upper lid is to make an incision in the crease of the lid and remove excess skin, pulling the lid up to a more youthful position. For those with extreme droopiness, blepharoplasty may also lift the eyelid out of the field of vision.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a modified protein substance injected under the skin to block the nerve signals that cause facial muscles to tighten. When the muscles relax their grip on the skin, it smoothes out and restores a youthful, relaxed appearance. The effects can last for up to three or four months and the treatment can be repeated as often as desired.
